UAE residents have been urged to stay indoors due to heavy rains causing flooding and road collapses.
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has advised residents to venture outside only in urgent situations.
They also recommended motorists to park their vehicles in safe, elevated areas away from flood-prone zones.
In response to the weather bureau’s warnings of worsening conditions today, schools transitioned to online learning overnight, and government employees were instructed to work remotely on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The inclement weather has resulted in numerous vehicle breakdowns on waterlogged roads, along with reports of lightning, thunder, and large hailstones damaging vehicles and causing power outages.
This marks the second stay-at-home advisory issued in two months, following a similar directive in March prompted by unstable weather conditions.
